I think something crazy has happened in the past 15 years or so. The cheaper places, better fast food (ChickfilA, Arby's in Webb City), and nicer cheap places like Chinese, Mexican food, Moe's, Panera, Schlotsky's, they have all started to give the customers EXCELLENT service and no tips are expected. So then when you go to Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Appleby's, etc. you expect something more for the tip and NOPE their attitude is usually alot worse then the people working at the no tip places. So that makes you expect more and then feel cheated when the ppl expecting a tip are actually more rude and not helpful. Honestly my family and I would rather go to ChickfilA these days and be treated well by their staff then going to Appleby's to get served by some little snot nosed girl who then expects me to give her $7-10 in cash to pocket just for taking our order and the 2 times she stopped by our table (on a $45 ticket). Sorry but that doesn't fly too well with me esp. when I can get better service from the other places. It's not like Appleby's is that nice anyway, if I want to spend $100+ on a meal and give a $30 tip it will be Arde's Villa on my anniversary! IBF
