More Dead Birds found in Louisiana

So a storm may have been responsible for the 3,000 dead blackbirds that rained on Arkansas shortly before New Year’s, but what about these birds? Five hundred dead redwing blackbirds and starlings turned up in Louisana, three days after the ones in Arkansas. The birds suffered internal injuries that led to deadly blood clots—possibly from falling from the sky.

Greedy landowners wanting to build new houses and even towns on rolling farmland. New runways for airports, mindless folk who want to rip up the countryside on screaming motor bikes, radio masts, etc, etc. Different groups present varying ways of opposing these pressures. There is though a central core running through all this. We all care on how are countryside is used. Ok, things change, time moves on: however, those who would destroy those things we love and also keeping in mind the rural people who rely on these very same things for their livelihood, farmers, country crafts people and so forth, then those who are hell bent on their own personal gains must be opposed. Imagine if you can, all but the highest and inacessable places covered in tarmac, concrete, buildings, massive wind farms. The majority of farmland destroyed: all food having to be imported from abroad. A few national parks preserved like some form of disney theme parks. Personally I shudder at the thought. However, the thin edge of the wedge is already in place. Giving one example, a high percentage of our food is already being provided from abroad; prime green belt land is already marked for development of now towns to provide thousands more new homes. Need I go on?
