Spending Cuts
Hard times are a-coming. According to a New York Times/CBS News poll, Americans overwhelming said they favored spending cuts by the government rather than higher taxes. But the support starts to fade when specific programs such as Medicare and Social Security—the programs that are the biggest drivers of the country’s debt—come into the picture. Nearly two-thirds of Americans chose higher payroll taxes for Medicaid and Social Security over reduced benefits in either program. Perhaps most shockingly, when asked whether they wanted to cut Medicare, Social Security, or the military—the three most expensive items on the budget—an overwhelming majority said the Pentagon should absorb the cuts.

- i agree completely with you on all of this financial stuff you are mentioning but even more troubling to me and other patriots is the way our politicians are selling us into slavery. Witness the recent passing of the NDAA bill in the senate. Any of us whom the president or congress doesn’t like can be arrested and put into indefinite detention without being charged or worse yet we can be assassinated at their whims. - Hi Howard,“Paper Trading” with a demo account is always a good idea, especially when you’re testing a new system. How long you should do this is however a very personal question, and the answer varies from one trader to the next. - I do agree on the importance of code reibadality but I think that pushing this to the extreme might actually render your code more difficult to read. For example I don't think the introduction of an additional function is justified in the case described above. But it would be a different story if the new function implemented more work than a straightforward one-liner.
