It's not just DC

Tags: Government, Politics So, my local county government, after months of reducing services, layoffs and general whining has decided it's a perfect time to buy a "portion" of an office building so they can meet the county's needs for the next thirty years. I'm not so anti-government to say that all spending is bad spending but really!!!! The entire campus that WE are buying a portion of, for $25 million, sold only a year ago for $15 million! Am I the only one that sees a probem with this! I don't begrudge any private enterprise making money......good for them! My issue is with my county, not the sellers. If we had office needs this urgent, I'm guessing this has been on the radar for some time; maybe more than the past six months. Wouldn't it have made more sense to buy the whole joint for $15m a few months ago than a portion for $25m now! I know we've all been fuched by government; city, county, state and federal, but come on!!! How many services and/or jobs could have been saved for the $10m difference alone! IBF (again)
