Re-Homing Fees
My husband and I were looking in the pets section of Craigslist, and we noticed a couple of animals we'd be very interested in having. However, along with the owners sob story about how they feel so bad that they have to give their "baby/babies" away they never fail to mention a "rehoming fee." I'm sorry, if you feel SO terrible about having to give up your pet, wouldn't you be satisfied just simply knowing that they are going to a loving home? I guess EVERYTHING has monetary value these days, including the love you feel for your pets. My husband brought up a good point. What if because of your stupid "rehoming fee" nobody buys your pet and you have to give them to the humane society due to your reasons of not being able to keep them. What will you do then? The humane society does not pay you to drop your pet off. What exaclty do you need a "rehoming fee" for? How exactly does the animal benefit from that? Just because someone can pay you the $100.00 "rehoming fee" does that really make them qualified to care for your pet the way you are begging for? No. Any animal abuser can come up with $100.00, take your pet, and do terrible things to it once the abuser gets them to their new "loving" home. My husband and I have become disgusted with your "rehoming fees."Maybe you should "rehome" your child along with your pet. Your not selling your child right? Just rehoming it. "No Mr. Officer, I wasn't selling my son/daughter, I was simply "rehoming" them." Yeah, sounds different now huh? Next time you want to put your pet on Craigslist, save everyone the sob story and be honest. "I just want the $100.00 'rehoming fee' for my personal gain; because in no way will sparky benefit from this. Thanks for looking." IBF.
